Challenge of the Pines
Cemetery Lane Flemingsburg, KY
These 12000 pines form 300+ rooms to make the largest permanent hedge maze in the U.S., covering 15 acres. This can be mentally and physically challenging to the youngest and oldest family member. Entertainment has become too passive. You sit on a ride or in a theatre and just let it happen to you.
Mazes are a great family activity. Parents can let their children take turns leading. This activity makes people take an active part in having fun. This is different than sitting on an amusement ride.
In these mazes you have to be more active.
The pines form an intimidating hedge to prevent you from seeing the paths before you choose. Some of the rooms may have 3 doors from which to choose. An unfortunate choice could mean that you would walk miles in a circle before you find the exit. The maze paths are new this year. This maze rates 8 on a scale of 1 to 10. This is a perfect family activity that requires everyone to make a choice; children can choose as well as any adult member.
